Still A Good Cause Thrift Shop, located at 16 Forest Avenue in Portland, announced last year that proceeds would benefit McAuley Residence, Mercy’s comprehensive housing program for women . The shop celebrated its first year anniversary on May 1 and Melissa Skahan, Mercy vice president for mission and Susan Rouillard, Mercy Healthcare Foundation vice president, were on hand to accept a $2,500 donation.

WCSH 6 reporter Chris Rose covered the story. Following the celebration, Chris visited McAuley Residence and interviewed one of the current residents about how the program is helping her. Also at the celebration were members of the Italian Heritage Center charity committee who presented a check of $500 to support McAuley Residence.
