McAuley Walk for Recovery

Categories: Fundraising, Home

The sun came out just as the McAuley 5K Run/Walk for Recovery was about to begin on Saturday, August 19! During opening ceremonies President Charlie Therrien, Police Chief Michael Sauschuck, VP Mission Melissa Skahan and Sister Miriam Therese Callnan all offered words of hope and praise for the women of McAuley Residence, most of whom participated in the walk with their children and family members.  Maine Spine Surgery employee Kelly O’Malley sang the National Anthem, and it could not have been more perfect when she was hitting her final notes, a plane flew overhead, on its way to landing at the Jetport. A special thanks to the team from TruChoice Federal Credit Union – not only for their financial support but for being on hand at 6:30 am to help set up, serving popcorn throughout the day, acting as race volunteers, and cleaning up at the end. It is because of their support, and that of others from the community, Mercy and VNA, that the event was a huge success. Already looking forward to next year!
