Twenty Sixth Annual Poinsettia Ball, A Masquerade

Maine Coast Memorial Hospital 26th Annual Poinsettia Ball hailed as a Success

Nearly $60,000 raised to support cancer patients

Guests in elaborate masks and fancy dress dined and danced the night away at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s 26th Annual Poinsettia Ball, which was held at Acadia Events Center on December 2, 2017.  The theme of this year’s ball was “A Masquerade,” and the event had the feel of a royal celebration. 430 people attended the ball and raised nearly $60,000 in proceeds, which will be used to support patient care at the Mary Dow Center for cancer care at MCMH.

“This event is a success because of the continued support of presenting sponsors R.H. Foster Energy and Machias Savings Bank; the generous funding from more than 140 community donors; the countless hours worked by our more than 100 volunteers; and the support of a volunteer committee of more than 20 community leaders,” said John Ronan, president of Maine Coat Memorial Hospital. “We couldn’t do this without our wonderful and caring community partners.”

Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Foundation would also like to give a very special thank you to Albert and Barbara Harmon for sponsoring the magnificent poinsettia tree; Edith R. Dixon and Wallace Events for sponsoring the venue; Cerner for sponsoring the band; Jones, Kuriloff, & Sargent, LLC for sponsoring the champagne; and Witham Family Properties for sponsoring the decorations.

We are thankful for the continued support from our community as we fulfill our mission of improving our communities with excellence in healthcare.
