    Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Twenty-sixth Annual Poinsettia Ball Hailed as a Success


    Guests in elaborate masks and fancy dress dined and danced the night away at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s 26th Annual Poinsettia Ball, which was held at Acadia Events Center on December 2, 2017.  The theme of this year’s ball was “A Masquerade,” and the event had the feel of a royal celebration. 430 people attended the ball and raised nearly $60,000 in proceeds, which will be used to support patient care at the Mary Dow Center for cancer care at MCMH.

    Still A Good Cause Thrift Shop, located at 16 Forest Avenue in Portland, announced last year that proceeds would benefit McAuley Residence, Mercy’s comprehensive housing program for women . The shop celebrated its first year anniversary on May 1 and Melissa Skahan, Mercy vice president for mission and Susan Rouillard, Mercy Healthcare Foundation vice president, were on hand to accept a $2,500 donation.
