Gourmet Gala Success

Categories: Fundraising

Local television personality Norm Karkos hosted the Gourmet Gala event on Tuesday, April 11, at Ocean Gateway.  It was a night of kicking the tires, braking by for tasty treats, speeding up for bidding and filling the tank for Gary’s House!

Weirs Motors bested their competition – Quirk Chevrolet, Portland Volvo and Rowe Ford – for the title of Corporate Chopped Champion, by cooking up a savory dish for a panel of judges, with mystery ingredients provided by Trader Joe’s. The competition is also sponsored and managed by CVC Catering.

Delicious samples were provided by David’s; DiMillo’s on the Water; Gelato Fiasco; Mercy Food Service; Sea Dog Brew Pub;  J’s Oyster Bar; Eve’s on the Garden and Tiqa. Shipyard and IcePik Vodka provided the libations. Several Mercy employees volunteered to help make the evening a success!

Gerard Kiladjian was honored with The Forsley Award, for his corporate citizenship. The event was a benefit for Gary’s House, Mercy’s home away from home for families with hospitalized loved ones.
